The film is the first in a sort of trilogy of films based of Baron Cohen's characters from Da Ali G Show television show, the second being Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nat...。盲女儿时母亲被坏人诱拐，以致意外受伤致盲，流落江湖却习得点武艺。成年后遇见坏人不敌，在四海为家的师傅教导下武艺精进，为解救老人之女，深入妓院赌场，最后却知老板娘竟就是家母……。Channel4制作爱尔兰背景神职题材经典喜剧，爱尔兰著名喜剧艺人Dermot Morgan主演，Morgan在第3季制作完成后不久即因心脏病英年早逝，此剧也因此过早划上句号。第1，3季均荣获当年BAFTA最佳喜剧剧集奖，同时Morgan并分获当年英国喜剧奖最佳男演员和BAFTA奖最佳喜剧男演员。。
