The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。长公主宝珠从皇宫出逃，皇帝令隐曜门沈易全力搜寻，公主出宫后竟与平民靳九结缘。沈易欲将带回，公主却以命相逼，誓要与靳九形影不离。沈易无奈只得将靳九收于隐曜门下，作为宫中内侍陪伴公主左右，在长公主的庇护下靳九以假内侍真男人的身份入了宫。靳九早早计划了与公主相遇，只为了一桩多年的旧事…。
