This would definitely not have been my kind of movie, but my husband saw it on TV and said it was really good. So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。英俊潇洒的宋丹萍（金山 饰）是一名话剧演员，他与地主的女儿李晓霞（胡萍 饰）真心相爱，却遭到晓霞的父亲和恶霸汤俊（顾梦鹤 饰）的联合阻拦，宋更遭镪水泼面的虐待。在此之后，他假托死亡，白天躲在剧院阁楼，夜晚则引吭高歌，凄厉的歌声满载着对爱人的思念及对现实的控诉，久久盘桓在剧院上空，成为漫漫长夜挥之不去的鬼魅梦魇。春去秋来，花开花落，转眼几度春秋。十年后的某个雨夜，一个剧团几经辗转来到宋所栖身的剧院。青年演员孙小鸥（施超 饰），他偶然结识了宋丹萍，绵亘十年的爱恨孽缘将再次延续…… 本片由冼星海作曲，田汉作词，该故事曾先后数次被搬上银幕。。
