雕刻厂的老技师李老汉一手雕刻的绝活远近文明，很受村里人的尊敬，五个女儿嫁出去四个，家里渐渐的冷清起来，李老汉最近一直有个心结，家里有个很宝贵的盒子，据李老汉自己说里面放着的是传家之宝，为了将宝贝传下去，老汉考验起了几个女儿的孝心……。Birdcatcher Esmar and his wife Johanna face eviction from their farm in Gásadalur unless they have a son. Desperation sets in when Johanna gives birth to their third daughter. Pushed to the brink, Johanna is impregnated by another man, a French Captain, and gives birth to a son, known as ‘the birdcatcher’s son’. Everything seems perfect until the French Captain returns.。
