And what was it like to be in the audience of one of his plays, where fruit was throw...。石启泰（蓝天饰）在战乱之中和自己的妻子苏瑞芳（李香琴饰）走散了，之后，以为苏瑞芳已死的他和千金大小姐荣国碧（罗兰饰）走到了一起，两人孕育了爱情的结晶，取名为石永熹（任达华饰）。石启泰深受岳父的信赖和喜爱，岳父将家族药厂永康堂托付给了石启泰一手打理。 一次偶然中，石启泰和苏瑞芳重逢了，这段本就因为误会而错过的感情死灰复燃。苏瑞芳怀孕了，为石启泰生了一个儿子取名为石晖（周润发饰），就这样，石晖和石永熹，这一对同父异母的兄弟，他们的命运就此纠缠在了一起。。
