职业IT男孙哲（张铎 饰）和在广告公司担任经理的陈静波（张萌 饰）是一对思想前卫的夫妻，他们钟情自由快乐的二人世界，暗自决定不要小孩，为此从双方父母那里得到不少的压力，甚至扯谎不能生育以蒙混过关。静波的表姐冯莹（牛莉 饰）和在某公司任老板的丈夫张嘉平（佟瑞欣 饰）人过中年，却渴望新生命的到来，由此展开艰苦壮绝、大汗淋漓的造人计划。静波的亲哥陈建亚“QQ”（雷佳音 饰）前卫程度不逊于妹妹、妹夫，他无比享受在万花丛中游走的快感，猎艳和上床远远比结婚生子重要，可即便完全防备也难免中招的命运。 新生命的到来，让静波、QQ、冯莹这些人的生活发生前所未有的变化……。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely.
