剧组从导演徐超到几位男女主演都是上世纪八十年代生人，女主角淑惠的扮演者今年还不到20岁。男主角梁栋是个地地道道的青岛人，片中的对话也有不少青岛方言。这些年轻人希望通过影片让更多的人了解80后一代的生活状态。。夏天明（杨盛业饰）是一个不会演戏的普通人，由于生活的压力机缘巧合进了剧组当跟组演员，没经验没人脉的他屡屡碰壁，在一次次失败是决定放弃演戏，失意时认识了剧组的化妆助理曾晓晓（江易轩饰）；在晓晓的鼓励下重拾信心专心研究演技，不懈的努力下终于得到了导演的赞赏，接到了举足轻重的角色，而正当他喜出望外之时缺得知自己被封杀……。Doctors of the Dark Side is the first feature length documentary about the pivotal role of physicians and psychologists in detainee torture.
