故事主要讲述，在一个顶级机密的军事实验室里，一群智力超群的年轻科学家偶然间揭开了人体隐形的秘密。他们的领队塞巴斯蒂安平日里骄傲自大，一意孤行。这次不顾生命安危和同事的劝阻，执意要拿自己的身体做试验品。当同事们成功将他变成隐形人后，却发现不能将他还原。正当同事们为找到还原方法没日没夜工作时，塞巴斯蒂安的身体和思想却发生了他们意想不到的变化。他越来越觉得隐形人好处多多，不愿意再回到从前的自我。。Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。
