The film tells the story of three people for a year: a son (Magimel) diagnosed with cancer, a mother (Deneuve) suffering from helplessness and a doctor (Cécile de France) to do her job: One year and four seasons for these three characters to deal with the disease, to tame it, and to understand what it means to die while alive.。六年后，八贤王江铭川凯旋，因年近三十还没成亲拥有子嗣，在众大臣纷纷猜测之际，湉湉突然冲上来报上大腿喊爹爹，让他回想起了和沈沐瑶的往事。殊不知，当初沈沐瑶攀附权贵离开自己，是为了保护江铭川，在湉湉的帮忙下，终于解开隔阂，江铭川开始追妻火葬场。。
