少年味吉洋一继承了亡父遗留下来的「日之出」食堂，他虽仍是个小孩, 但是他对烹饪有浓厚的兴趣，在机缘巧合下他认识了厨师协会的统帅，人称「味皇」的村田源二郎，更被味皇选中担任味皇料理某部门的主任,因此他不得不接受各人各项的美味比赛……。灵感来源于上世纪七十年代初发生在波兰的真实事件。故事围绕一个年轻的警官被任命为调查组主管，追查一系列残暴杀害女性案件的凶手展开。。To live and to love at the age of 18, immersing yourself in the carefree summer days and nights, losing your best friend suddenly, and realizing that nothing lasts forever.
