故事发生在今天的北非和中东间的某个小村落。自古以来，顶着烈日去深山挑水的重担一直落在村里的女人身上。新婚的Leila建议女人们向男人“开战”：如果他们不去挑水，便再也无权享受鱼水之欢。。故事讲述繁华长安发生诡异大火，大火遇水则旺，与此同时东城内爆发瘟疫，男主角辛礼与师父庚康全力施救却效果甚微。坊间开始流传，所有诡异事件都源自于太子失德遭到了天谴，而辛礼的师父庚康也被收押成为了阶下囚遭到毒害。辛礼为了还太子清白以及查明师父庚康的死因展开调查。辛礼在调查中发现，越来越多的毒虫出现在长安城各个角落，时值太子生辰，围绕太子的阴谋也渐渐浮出水面……。On June 23rd, 2022 it was announced by ITV2 and ITV Studios that from 2023 onwards, the show would once again be attempting to produce 2 seasons per year with the first of these airing in January,2023, while the usual summer season would also air later with an 8-week run.。
