高知县中央警察署刑警片山元，在乘火车押送犯人的途中为救护一名叫桃子的女人，使犯人乘机逃跑，片山元因此被警察署解雇。职业介绍所介绍他去一家酒吧跑堂。不料在那里又遇到桃子。桃子想去“来来轩”帮工赚钱，想请片山元当保人。片山元答应了。酒吧经营者户崎心黑手辣，是黑社会组织“山梨组”的头目。“山梨组”的大头目山梨刚造，是个颇具侠义心肠的老式人物，他对片山元很赏识。一天片山元接到警察署长植田的电话，要他加人“山梨组”，设法侦察与大阪毒品走私杀人案有关的线索。桃子被解雇了，她深深地爱上了片山元。山梨刚造知道片山元是警察，想利用他粉碎户崎等人走私毒品的阴谋。片山元与走私犯接头混战，警察赶到逮捕了走私犯。但片山元不幸负伤住院。被调往另一警署工作。桃子决定回大阪找到他并和他在一起。。A private detective helps a prostitute being assaulted, and notices that she is wearing a very unique ring.
