在平城京迁都后1300年的2010年，“大阪电视台”在继《圣德太子》《大化改新》后，制作了第三部古代史电视剧-《大佛开眼》 8世纪，大佛的建立是一项巨大的工程，在这个由被派遣到大陆的遣唐使们传来的思想和价值观作为天平文化而华丽的展开的时代，一个叫作“日本”的国家开始逐步形成建立起来。但是，在那背后，却有着支持着天皇的贵族间的政治斗争，以及不堪重税和被饥饿威胁的穷困的平民生活。在这个混乱的时代，人们会建一个怎样的国家，以及，人民会为了什么去建造一个这样的大佛。 在电视剧中，有从唐归国后以建造一个理想之国为志，忧虑，以及前进的天才-吉备真备，以及一直看着命令建立大佛的父亲-圣武天皇的背影的阿倍内亲王（后来的孝谦天皇），还有在此作为二人之间最大的敌对而展开夺术争权的藤原仲麻吕。以此三人为轴心，栩栩如生的再现了生活在那个时代中人们展开的爱憎，野心和挫折的人类...。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
