上世纪九十年代初的陕西秦岭腹地，两个不同姓氏的村庄因为一场天灾被迫合并成一个村子，村支书赵书和对由于自然灾害和两个村子多年积怨等原因造成的贫困现状痛心疾首，一心想改变家乡贫困的面貌，同时他还要处理好与以柳大满为代表的柳氏村民之间的关系。当年曾经跟随父亲下放到村子里的国文对这片土地有着深厚的感情，他与赵书和、柳大满在年轻时都是好友，国文进入政府部门工作后始终关注着村里的情况，让这片土地摆脱贫困也是他的多年夙愿。三个人在28年间为了摆脱贫困做出各种努力和尝试，两代人前赴后继投身扶贫事业，最终使村庄彻底摆脱了贫困。。‘Soo-ah’ spends hellish days everyday due to dating violence of her live-in boyfriend, ‘Hyun-woo’. ‘Anuat’, a man full of mystery, stays by the side of her.
