牛村村民牛耳夫妇结婚多年一直没有生出孩子。某次牛耳（李梦男 饰）接外出打工的村里寡妇孙丽珍（颜丙燕 饰）回村时，在回村的路上意外得到了一个婴儿。牛耳盼子心切，要归为己有，丽珍焦虑不安，怕招惹是非。果不其然，牛村圣地，不依规矩，不成方圆。上至年逾古稀的八爷，下至童言无忌的小牛，所有人都在探究这个婴儿的身世之谜，更是怀疑起了牛耳和丽珍的关系 ，引得牛耳老婆桂英（苗圃 饰）醋意大发。就在大家对牛耳和丽珍刨根问底、测谎诱供之际，一路追踪而来的黑社会老大友哥（英达 饰）和杀手九纹龙（胡明 饰）也已经兵临村下。原来这个婴儿竟是被黑社会偷来的绑架案肉票！一时间男女老少，剑拔弩张，全村上下，草木皆兵，上演了一出令人啼笑皆非的婴儿保卫战……。Previously acclaimed for his essayistic documentaries, Philip Scheffner has now ventured into fiction.
